Departing from the city of Cagliari, you will arrive in Barumini, in the heart of the Marmilla region and at the foot of the Giara.
The nuragic village of “Su Nuraxi” is a Unesco-protected property, recognized as a World Heritage Site since 1997, a mysterious complex of stones that dates back more than 3,000 years and where time seems to have stood still.
You will feel the breath of history as you explore corridors and chambers that once witnessed ancient civilizations.

If you choose the short tour, you will continue your journey to discover restored works from the Su Nuraxi complex at the “Casa Zapata” museum, a unique example of its kind. It is a marvelous and complex residence erected by the ancient and noble Aragonese Zapata family starting in the late 16th century and is divided into three sections – archaeological, ethnographic and historical.

If, on the other hand, you feel like immersing yourself in the wilderness of Marmilla, after being transported to the 13th century B.C., you will be taken to the Giara di Gesturi, a microcosm where the last wild horses of Europe have their home. If you are lucky you will meet these tiny inhabitants, who live free and undisturbed in their out-of-time habitat.
You will feel part of a world deeply connected to the authentic wild nature, immersed in a silence broken only by the sound of the wind threading its way through the rocks and the lentisk and arbutus plants of Sardinia.
